home

i've heard my fair share of cliches about home.. my top two being "home is where the heart is" and a post secret featured this sunday saying "home is a person, not a place." they essentially mean the same thing. home is where you place your love. you feel at home wherever you feel loved.

i for one, have always had a home. i have always felt loved by my family. when i moved out of my nuclear family's home, i always felt better when i either a) went back to visit them or b) had my best friends over. i'm lucky to have a handful of friends that love me and that i love enough to consider family. but it was still a bit lonely living alone whenever my friends weren't available or my parents weren't home. but then i found my special home. this home is in my lover's arms. wherever i am, i am okay as long as he's holding me. home is a person that resembles the love and safety you had when you lived at home as a child; or for some people, home is a person that replaces the love and safety you lacked when you were growing up.

  1. I don't mean to be creepy, but your blog came up on google when I googled a phrase and I read it.. just saying that I really like this post.

  2. Or, home is deployed to Afghanistan and where you live is just a house.
