exactly 2 weeks until i walk across a stage and get handed a fake diploma. hooray! the end is finally near. but the end of low ends is nowhere in sight. so what will i be doing after i graduate? the same ol' shit i'm doing now. so go ahead and congratulate me if you feel the need, but don't be offended when i feign excitement.
i'm just another person that spent four years learning about the way the world works, gained knowledge for the price of optimism, and am now overqualified for my current job.
i'm not asking for pity or fishing for compliments, i am simply warning you that i am no less cynical about the future just because i will eventually possess a piece of paper that says "i'm smart" at the BS level. it sure is bs alright.
anyways, big thanks to the starbucks/b&n cafe workers that served me coffee the past four years, the people that built the 125 for making my commute faster on some days, the assholes that parked in PS1 for hitting my car, my employers for giving me crap about taking time off to study, my friends that came over while studying which ultimately meant talking and eating, my parents for telling me that public health wasn't a good field to go in to, and the hundreds of employers looking for BILINGUAL only candidates or MPH's instead- for making my college experience what it has been. without you, my microcosm would not be able to function properly. pat yourselves on the back, this degree is just as much yours as it is mine.
