Be Real, Be True

There's nothing like the feeling you get after listening to an enlightening song with meaningful, eloquent lyrics such as Black Star's Thieves in the Night.
I mean sure, popular songs playing on the radio have dope beats and may get you in the mood to dance, but they really don't compare to the songs that never get air time (at least not on the west coast). Why? Because these songs are not superficial and don't contain mind corrupting subliminal messages? Because these songs don't get you in the mood to dry hump someone? Because these songs get you thinking? Is that it? Whoever controls the radio just doesn't want man to think for himself, or think at all?
Whatever the case may be, we need to reassess the sounds that we allow our ears to hear.

"I asked him why we follow the law of the bluest eye
He looked at me, he thought about it
Was like, "I'm clueless, why? "
The question was rhetorical, the answer is horrible
Our morals are out of place and got our lives full of sorrow
And so tomorrow comin later than usual"
