learn to earn or earn to learn

we do not choose to be born, therefore our world is technically given to us. it is important to remember that our world was not given to us without cost. it took an extreme amount of love, patience, and effort to bring us into this world so we should be willing to give the same back to those that brought us here (i.e. our parents and God). although i vow to not bring a life into this world (without being able to support it fully), i promise that if it so happens that i am blessed with a child, they will know that nothing in this world is free (besides their spirit). i live and work in a society where people have been spoiled rotten and lose sight of their morals. vanity, luxury, and power are not things we should focus on. rather, we should spend time with nature, people that can lift our spirits, and ourselves so that we may refine our souls. if we invested as much time and effort on our character as we do our outward appearances, the quality of life for all would improve significantly. we would see that keeping up with the Jones' is not nearly as satisfying as helping out a neighbor in need. and our time would be better spent with our family than with our co-workers earning overtime. this is where our "capitalist" system has failed us and forced us into a more socially "acceptable" slavery system. we are encouraged to sacrifice everything in hopes of rising to the top ranks of the corporate world, when in reality there is only room for 1% of our country to be a boss. we are all working for the man if we are not working for ourselves. while money is necessary in this life (but not in the next), it will never be my priority. love and happiness are the greatest goods we can experience, and neither can be bought nor sold.
